Radio EditorialThe World from a Jewish Perspective XXIV Thank you Edith, After the decent people of the world have recognized the great danger of terror and the leader of the world, our USA has achieved a great victory in Afghanistan, it is time to draw some conclusions. It became clear that America is willing and definitely capable to win every militarily confrontation. This is good news and bad news. The good news is that we can win. The bad new is that by knowing our strength, we may become too soft and we can not afford it. As much as we love and appreciate our human rights, at this moment absolute preference has to be given to the task, to uproot the enemy. It is the aim of the terrorists to rip up our rights. Only when we are strong enough to defeat the enemy, will we be strong enough to protect our fair and wise constitutional rights also in the future. The war has just begun. We can not even claim that the first round was won, as the number of rounds may be undeterminable. The fact that Bin Laden and his main leaders are not yet apprehended proves that they have support by the population. This is a great danger in the world of fanatics, where images are idolized, perceived as icons and almost supernatural. They can not be defeated, not by arguments of logic, nor by pleasing them in any way. Yasser Arafat, ruled over his bunch of terrorists out from Tunis, until he promised to be a good boy, accept Israel and live with them in peace. Children who promise to learn their lessons are not given automatically the highest grades, first they have to pass the exams. This rule is accepted as just and logic. But by way of trying to appease a terrorist, Yassir Arafat, was given the "Peace - Nobel Prize." He was given land by Israel, which includes 99% of the Arab population and arms for 20,000 policeman to fight terrorism. Instead of the permitted 20,000 policeman, Arafat has unlawfully created an army of 40,000 armed soldiers. The only promise he ever kept, was the holy Jihad to destroy Israel. It was a fatal error in history, that Arafat was given the Nobel Prize instead of an Oscar. With the "shmate" on his head and Oliver Twist's Feigin-smile, he was believed and given credit by an illustrious mix of an audience, consisting of anti-Semites, pro-oilers, naïve liberals, rigid conservatives and astonishingly even by some Jews. As an example; Mrs Linda Gradstein, an orthodox Jew, (by the way,) whose grandfather I knew personally and I remember as a decent Jew and Zionist, informes the world over CNN and though she never lies, understands to create the impression of the good Palestinians and bad Israelis. The media offers Arafat, who kills innocent peoples as a man of peace and Sharon, who shoots at empty buildings as a constant hard-liner. The El-Aksa Intifada was declared by Arafat, but - what the heck, the Jews are the aggressors and murderers. And now, in the latest act of this imposter, he claims to be a victim of Israel's intransigence, who accuses him unjustly to have smuggled illegal weapons. "He didn't do it and knows nothing about it." "Yes," he promised: "I will investigate and punish the wrongdoer." It is said that he will seat himself as punishment for an hour on his child's "time out chair," will sit 'shiva' and morn about the lost weapons. He will also make a speech about peace and pay his respects to his holy martyrs. All this deadly show could have taken place only, because the world fooled itself in the hope that terrorists can be dealt with, with understanding and nice gestures.
As the curtain goes down over Afghanistan, we should remember and understand that terrorists are terrorists and all the focus has to be aimed to eradicate them. The strong language has to be understood not only by the terrorists themselves but also by their followers, because they provide the needed breeding ground for the evil to exist. This may not be permitted because at stake is the future of a free world.
