The World from a Jewish Perspective XXII

Thank you Edith,

The new Afghanistan leaders have declared victory. The Talibans are ousted and the Americans had helped them wonderfully to achieve their goal, thank you. The question is, whether America can declare victory too? Many say no, because Bin Laden and cohorts are not yet caught. But this is not the truth. First, Bin Laden will be captured, with beard or without. But the main importance lies in the fact that America's power was clearly expressed. In this part of the world, strength is the only language, which is understood. As an example; at the beginning of America's bombing campaign, mass demonstrations for Bin Laden and against America, in Pakistan and other Arab countries made headlines. Suddenly, the demonstrators disappeared. Most Arabs are following with enthusiasm the winner but shunt the looser.

This importance was also evident by Arafat's urgent claim, that Israel should begin negotiations during the time of being under attack. By this, he wanted to prove to his followers, that Israel concedes defeat and asks for mercy. Arafat would have appeared as victor and could dictate his conditions. Israel did not fall into this trap, not to mention, that agreements by Arafat would have been, as in the past - totally worthless. Arafat was declared by the Israeli government as irrelevant. It is superfluous to contemplate if he can not, or does not want to make peace.

He failed in his tactics in many ways. Though he provoked Israel, Israel did not do him the favor to kill his "children," as he wanted to. Many of the "not killed children," had now to look for another opportunity for martyrdom and 72 virgins. The UN approved just recently Arafat's call for help to send an international group to protect the "poor and helpless" Palestinians. America put in a veto and even the European Union, which always stood on Arafat's side, recognized him as the imposter he really is. Arafat can look back nostalgically to the wonderful times he had, when he flew from country to country and his kissing and hugging, looked less of political discussions than an episode of the dating game. Rumor has it, that Arafat will put on the cut off beard of Bin Laden on himself, so that both will be unrecognizable.

Arafat pretended to want peace and lied. He promised Israel, to end all violence and lied. He promised to educate his people for coexistence with Israel and incited them to deadly hate. Without this net of lies and false promises there could be peace today in the Holy Land. The, by him created hate, makes it impossible for the indoctrinated Palestinians to make peace with the people they hate so much. Because of this, after 50 years of war, we can face another 50 years of the same.

America faces today the same fanatic, ruthless and unjustified hate. Like in Afghanistan, America will have more victories. The danger of the victories is, that we will become complacent and take every temporary victory as final victory. This war against the Western world is fought with sickening disregard of justice and like weeds, they will have to be treated constantly, otherwise they will take over the whole world.

No victory may overshadow the memory and the teachings of the eleventh day of September 2001. If we want to win, we may not forget.
