Radio EditorialThe World From a Jewish Perspective IV This evening we will celebrate the about 4,000ndst anniversary of having received the Ten Commandments. These laws, given to the Jewish people, transformed the world from idolatry and chaos and laid the fundament of God's rules for justice. These laws were adopted by all major religions and valid for the vast majority of mankind. There were clear lines established, which proclaim wrong as wrong and right as right. When we observe the deeds of the fanatics amongst the Arabs, we can see how they violate all of these laws as they pertain to the conflict with Israel. They make their wrong as 'right' and Israel's right as 'wrong.' Israel can understand the people who were incited during decades with hate, intolerance and greed. The truth of the Palestinian tragedy is, that their own leaders convinced them to leave Palestine rather to live in peace with the Jews. The leaders promised them that they would return after the Jews were pushed into the sea by the Arab armies. But what we can not understand is, why people who were not indoctrinated by this fanaticism still take the Arab side and press Israel. We can not understand the Media. We can wonder how many fake evenhandedness and pretend to be neutral. When two sides of the conflict are quoted, which is o.k. also an opinion from the few left Israeli naives are brought to criticize Israel. Of course there never will be an Arab voice who criticizes the Arabs. Another point we don't understand is the Mitchell-Report. For some reason he had to bring in, the point of the so- called "settlements." First of all - these "settlements" did not exist prior to the "Six Day War," and still the Arabs made war. Should Israel even liquidate all the settlements, the Arabs would in spite of it still request to bring in 5 million Arabs and liquidate all of Israel. With or without settlements! So what are we talking about? If a peaceful solution could have been found, it would have been within the framework of the Oslo-agreement, where each of the points where violated by the Arabs. To reach the final Arab solution for the Jews, during the whole "peace-process," constant demand and complaints where fabricated. The "red herring,' of now are the settlements. We may get a clearer picture about the reasons for the false evenhandedness when we observe the reaction of the EU - the "European Unity." They called for Israel to put an end to the settlements - or else. The word "boycott" against Israel was uttered. If the peace negotiations according to Oslo, could not bring a solution, how dare the Europeans request capitulation of Israel on behalf of the Arabs? What right has Europe to judge Israel in this and every aspect, as noticed with their constant condemnation of Israel in the totally biased United Nations? We can only guess or suspect that within these past willing partners of the Nazis still a hidden urge exists to fulfill posthumously Hitler's wishes. In similar situation, every decent judge would recluse himself and not let his bias give a sentence, which could hang an innocent person. It seemingly is harder than we thought for people to change their biases. It is time for every decent person to come back to the 10 Commandment and its teachings and let right be right and wrong be wrong. Israel has the right to exist in peace and security as any other people. It is time for the Arabs to accept this - and also for these other people - these victims of their old bias. Hag Sameach,
