his site is dedicated to Tibor Mark Mendelsohn (17/06/1928-10/05/2005) and to his son Emil Mark (07/05/1957-08/04/2003) – founder and creator of the Holocaust Names web site.

Tibor Mark was born in Cluj, Transilvania, Hungary. After a hard childhood, he faced the Holocaust where he lost all his family.

From this experience, Tibor learnt the value of family union and so he transmitted to his descendents.

After the liberation, he returns to his native city only finding two belongings: one “tsit-tsit” of the family and his violin, that would be his companion until his arrival to America.

As a war orphan, he arrives at Montevideo, Uruguay, where he starts giving his first violin concerts.

Years after he married Sofia Cernei and built a family. From the mariage were born: Emil Mark and Marie Janette Mark(today married to Gabriel Katz and with two sons: Alexandre and Robert).

Emil Mark got married in Brazil and died years later from linfoma. He left two children: Nicole and Emily. He was an exemplary father who lived and died for his family.

Two years after Emil´s death, Tibor Mark died from heart atack.
